Dan Zinner

Dan Zinner is a senior transformation leader with over twenty-five years’ experience driving commercial growth and purpose-led change across sectors including retail, transport, healthcare, and energy. He believes that organisations can be both commercially successful and socially impactful — that profit and purpose are not opposing forces but essential partners in building sustainable futures.

Dan has led transformation in some of the UK’s most complex environments, including as Chief Transformation Officer and COO of the Post Office, where he balanced government, union, and community interests to modernise a network of over 11,500 branches while sustaining critical public services. Previously, he drove commercial reinvention as Retail Director at Wyevale Garden Centres and Commercial Director at Clicks Group in South Africa, where he led large teams to deliver double-digit growth through operational and strategic innovation. Earlier in his career, he was a consultant with McKinsey & Company, advising global consumer and retail businesses on strategy and performance improvement.

Alongside his commercial work, Dan is committed to social impact. He was a pro bono coach and mentor for several UK charities — including BBC Children in Need, Open for Business, and Horatio’s Garden — helping CEOs and leadership teams strengthen strategy, execution and governance. Earlier, he created and chaired the Clicks Helping Hands Trust, a public–private health partnership providing vaccinations and HIV testing to underserved communities in South Africa.

Dan brings a pragmatic yet human approach to leadership — believing that true transformation happens when organisations combine strategic clarity with empathy, accountability, and courage. His mentoring style is collaborative and reflective, helping others find focus, unlock confidence, and navigate the challenges of leading with purpose.
